The Spousal Sponsorship Program is one of the most popular routes to Canada PR for spouses and common-law partners. It is an excellent opportunity for foreign nationals to rejoin with their spouses and common-law partners who are PR visa holders or residents of Canada.
Canada’s Spousal sponsorship
A permanent resident or citizen of Canada can sponsor his or her spouse, common-law partner, or even conjugal partner in order for them to apply for permanent residency in Canada. You may confirm this with best immigration consultants in India.
Candidates must demonstrate their relationship to the IRCC in order to qualify as a sponsor and to be sponsored (Immigration, Refugee, Citizenship Canada). Furthermore, Canada accepts same-sex marriages, which means that same-sex spouses are entitled to apply for any of the following categories:
- Spouse: The person must be 18 years or older
- Common-law partner: A person 18 years or older who has lived with you for at least 12 months but is not legally married to you.
- Conjugal Partner: A individual who is not legally married to you but has been in a relationship with you for at least one year. That person must be at least 18 years old and reside outside of Canada.
